It all began as a small shop in Welland, Ontario, Canada back in 1954. John Clare was the sole proprietor in the early days of business.

CLARE’S Cycle & Sports Ltd. is and has always been a family business. In the early days John's father, Ed Clare, and brother Bill were very much involved with the business. John's wife Donna, son Randy, daughter Robin, niece Pam, and nephew Darren all continue to play important roles in contributing to the success of the business.

CLARE’S was moved out to Fenwick where over the years it has grown to be the large and successful business that it is today.
Over the years CLARE’S added Harley-Davidson®, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki & Vespa lines to the dealership.

In 2008 CLARE’S Harley-Davidson® of Niagara came into being. The Harley-Davidson® department was moved from the Fenwick location to a brand new location at 590 York Rd Niagara on the Lake.

CLARE’S close proximity to the world famous Niagara Falls makes it a popular spot to visit when travelers and tourists are in this part of the world.
People drop in from all corners of the world and every continent to visit, shop, or browse. They are made welcome and their business is appreciated.

For over 75 Years, Diana Sweets --"The Di" -was a conspicuous landmark business in the downtown core..Equally as important was the major role which it played in the social and cultural life of St. Catharines.
"The Di" became a meeting place for three & possibly four generations of St. Catharines residents, whether it was for a quick coffee or snack with friends, family or co-workers, or simply as a quiet retreat for a few moments during a busy day.
It was a great place but unfortunately it had to close.
When the "Di" closed in 1996, a vital downtown business was lost.,The blow became even more poignant with the removal of the original Art Deco interior and other restaurant fittings which were shipped to Buffalo.

The furnishings stayed in storage for over 10 years.
Then it happened... The Diana Sweets furnishings had been bought and are back in Niagara! Randy Clare from Clare's Cycle / Harley-Davidson of Niagara purchased the remaining lot from the antique dealer in Buffalo New York and has brought it to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario & put it in his new Harley-Davidson Store. It's restored and ready to go. .
