It all began as a small shop in Welland, Ontario, Canada back in 1955.
Clare's Harley-Davidson® of Niagara was moved out to Fenwick where over the years it has grown to be the large and successful business that it is today. Over the years Clare's Harley-Davidson® of Niagara added Harley-Davidson®, Yamaha, Honda® & Suzuki lines to the dealership.
In 2008 Clare's Harley-Davidson® of Niagara came into being. The Harley-Davidson® department was moved from the Fenwick location to the current location at 590 York Rd Niagara on the Lake. John Clare
John Clare - Clare's Cycle & Sports dealership in Fenwick has been a thriving community landmark and a hotbed of motorcycle enthusiasm in the Niagara region for over 65 years.
John Clare's love affair with motorcycles started in 1949, at age 15, when he received a 1930 Harley-Davidson® as payment for a plumbing repair. Over the years, he has participated in nearly every branch of motorcycle sport, including road racing, trials, scrambles, hill climbs and dirt track. His enthusiasm was rewarded in 1974, when he was recognized by Premier Bill Davis as 'Ontario Sportsman of the Year' for his distinguished performance in amateur sports.
John's love of motorcycles and his dedication to his community have come together in many wonderful ways over the years.
John has been awarded many times for his generous contributions to his Niagara region community. After serving two terms as Fenwick Lions Club President, he received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award - the highest honour available to Lions Club members. In February 2011 John joined an elite group of Canadian motorcyclists, becoming the third person to ever receive the Deeley Harley-Davidson® Canada lifetime achievement award.
Is truly a rider who's done everything in Canadian motorcycling. Few honours evaded him during his competitive years.

With more than 60 years of motorcycling under his belt, through nominations, community involvement and John's genuine passion for the sport of motorcycling - He has rightfully earned a reputation as a great rider, racer & retailer. John Clare has proven himself to be a pillar of this community and his accomplishments speak volumes and certainly make him a Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Famer.

Remember Diana Sweets on St. Paul St. in St. Catharines?
Well it's back and ready with hot coffee at the all new Clare's Harley-Davidson® of Niagara located at 590 York Rd. Niagara on the Lake Ontario.
For over 75 Years, Diana Sweets --"The Di" -was a conspicuous landmark business in the downtown core..Equally as important was the major role which it played in the social and cultural life of St. Catharines. "The Di" became a meeting place for three & possibly four generations of St. Catharines residents, whether it was for a quick coffee or snack with friends, family or co-workers, or simply as a quiet retreat for a few moments during a busy day. It was a great place but unfortunately it had to close.
When the "Di" closed in 1996, a vital downtown business was lost.,The blow became even more poignant with the removal of the original Art Deco interior and other restaurant fittings which were shipped to Buffalo. The furnishings stayed in storage for over 10 years.
Then it happened... The Diana Sweets furnishings had been bought and are back in Niagara! Randy Clare from Clare's Cycle / Clare's Harley-Davidson® of Niagara purchased the remaining lot from the antique dealer in Buffalo New York and has brought it to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario & put it in his new Harley-Davidson® Store.
